Certain places in Fountain City have contributed to the educational or cultural climate or have otherwise made a difference in the lives of the people in the community.

Many of the important places were considered in Nanny Lee Hicks' classic "History of Fountain City" (Coleman Printing Company, Knoxville, 2000). The above-named place was discussed on pages 60-62 of that book available at the Fountain City Library.
